The Ascot

The brief was for a versatile space which could be a family retreat and office space for working from home, with a mezzanine floor for sleeping on. Hence the alpine style high gable look for the extra head room on the mezzanine.
Vertical larch cladding gives the building a chic contemporary look and 100mm insulation on all 6 sides of the volume means only a tiny trickle from a panel heater is required during the winter. This has created a much needed over-spill from the house.
